Disney have recently announced, on their website, that they will be shutting down both the Marvel: Avengers Alliance game and its sequel.

Disney wrote on their website:

“Today we are announcing the shutdown of Marvel: avengers Alliance and Marvel: Avenger Alliance 2 on all platforms, including the App Store, Google Play, Amazon AppStore, Windows Phone Store, and Facebook.”

The post then went onto explain that you will no longer be able to make new purchases or downloads, but the game will still be available to play until September 30.

Disney have not yet commented on whether or not they will give refunds to those people who have purchased the game’s currency, but I have heard that the guys over at Gamespot have reached out to Disney and are awaiting a response. I advice you head over there for more information on the subject.

The main reason behind the shutdown of these games is due to Disney working on new mobile games for the users to enjoy.
