Starting this week you will more likely get a legendary item when you play Borderlands. Gearbox conducted test in which has tripled the drop rate for legendary items in Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. This is now in effect on all platforms thanks to the fix update earlier this week. This will help players who want to build up their legendary collection.
Gearbox took in feedback through surveys and the official forum and gathered the data with testing. All was considered and that you will likely get a legendary item since it is bump 3x now.
Gearbox’s Jeff Skal explained why for the change.
“After digging through all the data, we discovered that standard drop rates were perceived as too rare but that anything over 3x boost felt like too much-almost to the point where it was starting to take away the challenge and excitement from seeing that beautiful orange glow.”
I for one will be booting up my Borderlands now since this is the case for me to get some legendary items. I will most likely be able to take on some of the hard enemy’s since I’ll be packing a legendary weapon. I am stoked about this.
