It’s no surprise that the battle royale genre has hit a peak in popularity this year with games such as the ever-so-popular PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds, Fortnite, and H1Z1. It looks like another major PC title — Counter-Strike —will be trying to take that leap with its upcoming new battle-royale style mode—this is according to Valve News Network, whose recent video reports of an upcoming CS:GO patch that dates back to May of 2016.

Creator Tyler McVicker acknowledges that a number of references within each of the shooter’s update are yet to be featured. These features include compound bows, adrenaline shots, breach charges, sonar pulses and MK2 grenades—that and among other yet unknown features that fit within the battle royale genre. See Valve News Network illustrating the possibility of a Counter-Strike Battle-Royale style game.
