Death Stranding is Silent Hill P.T…. Kinda
To everyone’s disappointment, it’s widely known now that P.T. has been canceled due to a falling out between Hideo Kojima and Konami. This game looked incredible. It had everything you could ask for in a new gen. first person horror game. As virtual reality comes to popularity, this game would have been a must have launch title for upcoming VR systems. But now only few of us are left with P.T. demos we refuse to delete from our consoles.
But what if Kojima took P.T. with him in his move to his own studio? In Death Stranding‘s trailer, we can see about 3 solid details.
- Norman Reedus is the main character of the game
- There are some odd happenings involving an infant
- The game’s setting is a grim land that borderlines fantasy
These details also showed up in P.T.; Norman Reedus was the main character, the lore revolved around an infant and you are stuck in a looping house. Is it that farfetched for Kojima to have revived his efforts at Konami to bring us the game we’re dying for? P.T. was cancelled around the time Kojima’s future with the company became unclear. Taking P.T. away from Konami and releasing it under his own name could be the giant slap in the face Kojima is looking for and I think I speak for everyone when I say we want him to succeed.
With zero gameplay to pick apart it’s tough to say if Death Stranding will be a carbon copy of P.T. but it’s fun to hope. We will be keeping a close eye out for gameplay footage to compare the details. If you have any supporting details or counter arguments to the theory, let us know in the comments below and you may be cited in our next article.
