DO YOU WANT TO PLAY AS A FEMALE LINK?
The guys over at Nintendo have been known for pushing boundaries and taking chances with their hardware over the years. With this in mind, we eagerly await more news about the NX. Our dodge game stays #onfleek as we juke past lame NX rumors and random 3d printed scams that haunt the internet. But now, one rumor suggests Nintendo may be considering taking a chance with one of their most beloved game series; Zelda. I am just like the rest of you. I crave a fix for my Zelda needs but this long told rumor even caught my Zelda dreams off guard. First we get Linkle in Hyrule heroes and now more and more reputable Nintendo news sources are saying there will definitely be a FEMALE LINK. Emily Rogers, a proven source for Nintendo news wrote this recently in a tweet:
“Rumor #1: Yes, Zelda is coming to both Wii U and NX. I confirmed it with a ton of people. You can choose which one to get. Or get both. Rumor #2: I heard from multiple sources that you can choose between a male or female as your playable character in Zelda.”
Now, let’s make one thing completely clear; we at irrelevant gamer are not confirming a rumor that’s on top of a rumor. This is just popping up in so many places, it’s genuinely worth a conversation. Will we have the option of playing as Linkle from Hyrule Heroes? Will this be a completely new link character? WILL LINK HAVE A FEMALE VOICE ACTOR?! OK, that’s definitely a stretch but I personally think it’d be pretty cool to play a full game as a female link.
This change isn’t to say all Nintendo titles must allow female or male characters either. Fox McCloud doesn’t need to be a female. Samus doesn’t need a male counterpart. But Perhaps Nintendo saw fans attach themselves to the infamous Linkle. Perhaps Nintendo finally got on the internet and saw the thousands of female cos-players rocking their link gear.
How do you guys feel though? What do you want in the next big Zelda game the most? Do you want a female Link? Or do feel as “meh” as Link does in this carefully timed and captured picture?
