This week EA revealed FIFA 18, along with the game’s cover star, brand new trailer, and 4-new screenshots. The recent Champions League winner and all around global football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo will be this year’s cover star. EA also confirmed that a Nintendo Switch version will launch alongside the other console versions, the game will not be a downgrade version but a unique rendition of FIFA on the Switch, making use of its console features.
We’ve also learned that the debut mode from last year’s game—The Journey—will not be coming back to either platform. This year the game will be scrapping the Legends Ultimate Team and going with a new multiplatform called Icons. Icons will be made available on all platforms with the first featuring the Brazilian legend player; Ronaldo. More FUT Icons will be revealed throughout Summer time.
Check out its reveal trailer and screenshots down below. We’ve also learn of the game’s special editions (see that further down)
The title will come with three editions; The Ronaldo Edition, ICON Edition, and the Standard Edition. Available on all consoles, some have been announced to hold special features such as The Ronaldo Edition, this edition comes with a three-day early access to the game. The ICON Edition comes with some additional FUT goodies in form of loan players, as well with a three-day early access period. Pre-ordering any of the three editions, you will receive Cristiano Ronaldo on a loan in FUT, 8 special edition FUT kits, and—depending on which edition you pre-order—a $60 worth of Jumbo Premium Gold FUT packs.
