Insomniac Games who are currently working on the PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man game, retracted some of the comments made by a Marvel representative earlier today. During a live-stream, Marvel Vice President and Executive Editor of Digital Media Ryan Penagos mentioned that the upcoming Spider-Man PS4 Exclusive title would be launching this year. After the comment was made by Mr. Penagos, the gaming community was psyched to finally hear news of an upcoming release.

Well not too long after, Insomniac took to their Twitter and responded with: “No release timeframe has been announced”. Now, Insomniac never publically discussed a release date for the game, a release window for 2017 is still something that can happen. Yet. it’s likely the company wants to wait for a more grand reveal than some chat made on a Livestream, which if you think does make sense, what better way to announced your game somewhere where the entire gaming world watches.

However, there’s always the case that the game is still under development, and it actually launches in 2018. Our take is Insomniac would likely announce something at this year’s E3 event. Fingers-Crossed.

I’ll leave you with the game’s reveal trailer from last year’s E3:
