During today’s Electronic Arts’ EA Play Press Conference at E3 2017, EA Sports revealed a new trailer titled “Longshot” from the highly anticipated story mode for this year’s Madden 18 game. We’re also shown that the game is running with EA’s own Frostbite engine making the game look sensational of course. The trailer showcases a brief narrative of Devon Wade, a football player from the University of Texas who’s drafted in the NFL—the team? well, that’s up to you to decide where Devon lands.
It’s a no-brainer that after the success of adding a story mode to last’s year’s FIFA 17 game, many fans of Madden hoped for a similar feature with this year’s iteration. EA hopes that gamers who pick up the game can experience a new playing feel, being that this new story mode added is a first in the game’s long-running series.
No further information was given for the upcoming story mode or game overall. We know that New England Patriots QuarterBack Tom Brady will be the star cover. The game will launch in two versions; Standard Version, and the GOAT Edition which will give players the ability to play the game 3 days early before its initial release on August 25th. We also know that playing the game early, players will receive 1 elite player from their favorite NFL team, 2,500 contracts, an Ultimate Team uniform pack, 1 of 5 elite GOAT players, and 12 Madden Ultimate Team squad packs.
