New video surfaced online today showcasing bits of gameplay for the upcoming Mario Kart Arcade GP VR game. This new game gives the beloved Mario Kart series a virtual reality twist—racing alongside characters in the world of Nintendo—granted, I was very much skeptical about a VR iteration, however, one look at its gameplay shut it all down—it looks quite good.

The game is set to launch first in Japan next month, with of course plans of releasing it overseas late this Summer/early Fall starting in London. The game will only be playable with the HTC Vive headset only—this could however change in the future, perhaps Nintendo will feature this game with its upcoming VR headset. Not much is yet known about the game—Nintendo has also been quiet of the upcoming VR game—hopefully we get some new clarity at next month’s Gamescon event in Germany.

Mario Kart GP VR will become available on the HTC Vive headset, as of now unclear whether it’s launching on PC, or on the Switch itself.
