The gaming community has been abuzz for the last few weeks, anticipating the trailer for Nintendo’s new project, dubbed Nintendo NX. Now, Nintendo have just released their first trailer introducing us to this new console and its capabilities.
Now officially called the Nintendo Switch, the new console is capable of being both a controller for home gaming, and a handheld gaming system in its own right.
The buttons on each side of the handheld screen are removable, giving you two built-in controllers for easy, on-the-go multiplayer with friends. It also has a plastic stand that pulls out from the screen, meaning you can comfortably rest it on any flat surface.
The Nintendo Switch definitely uses cartridges to operate, but at the moment it is unclear if it uses anything else.
Aside from the revolutionary new system, a couple of new games were shown in the Switch trailer.
First off is Skyrim Remastered, which isn’t exactly new, but is definitely unexpected. This means that users of the Nintendo Switch will be able to play Skyrim Remastered anywhere, which fans (like myself) are already getting hyped about.
Splatoon 2 was also teased, showing off some cute new Inkling hairstyles, but not much else. Still, this is a major reveal, and it’s almost certain that there will be more information soon.
