Nintendo announced today that it’ll be launching a new portable handheld device; the Nintendo 2DS XL. The new handheld launches in Japan on July 13th while here in the West the system launches only two weeks later on July 28th, for the suggested price of $149.99 USD. It’s confirmed that the console will have the same screen size as the recent Nintendo 3DS XL, however lacking its 3D feature, the handheld will also include a C-stick, the ZL and ZR buttons, and the NFC tech to ensure communications with amiibo. The portable console is also scaled lighter than the 3DS XL, weighing only 260g. Its now confirmed that both color version will be avaialble globally, one of a Black X Turquoise color and the other a White X Orange.
