Nintendo of America announced that the company are producing a new “Mini” Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES Classic Edition). The classic 16-bit system will come included with 21 pre-installed games from its era and, it’ll also connect to high-definition TV sets using HDMI. Nintendo has also announced the console will come included with a digital copy of Star Fox 2, a sequel title which never saw the light of day until now.

“While many people from around the world consider the Super NES to be one of the greatest video game systems ever made, many of our younger fans never had a chance to play it,”—“With the Super NES Classic Edition, new fans will be introduced to some of the best Nintendo games of all time, while longtime fans can relive some of their favorite retro classics with family and friends.”

Here’s the complete list of games that’ll come included on launch day:

  • Contra III: The Alien Wars
  • Donkey Kong Country
  • EarthBound
  • Final Fantasy III
  • F-ZERO
  • Kirby Super Star
  • Kirby’s Dream Course
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past™
  • Mega Man X
  • Secret of Mana
  • Star Fox
  • Star Fox 2
  • Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
  • Super Castlevania IV
  • Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
  • Super Mario Kart
  • Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
  • Super Mario World
  • Super Metroid
  • Super Punch-Out!!
  • Yoshi’s Island

Finally, the system will come included with one HDMI cable, one USB charging cable with an AC adapter and two wired Super NES Controllers—the actual length of these controllers is of yet to be announced. As of now, the system has sold out in pre-orders, the company are aware that demand for last year’s NES Classic wasn’t fully met for consumers—hopefully by the time of its initial release the system will launch with many SNES to spare.

Our little take: You know it’ll seem a lot better if Nintendo would simply add a bundle of these games and add them to Nintendo Switch’s e-Shop.

SNES Classic Edition will launch this Fall on September 29th, for the retail price of $79.99. To Pre-order the title, check out the retails in your area or online to make a pre-order.
