Nintendo has released a new software update for the Switch and its a special one at that. Owners will now be able to transfer saved games and user profiles to other systems—along with a new feature many have been wanting for some time, the chance to video capture gameplay.
Players can now freely press and hold the capture button to record their last 30 seconds of gameplay, the recording would immediately drop into their album—you’ll also be given the option to share your recording on Facebook or Twitter. According to Nintendo’s FAQ, you’ll need both systems to transfer data from one to another, the only option available as of now moves all profile data includes saves and eShop purchases from one system to the other. A downside to all this is that you’re out of luck if your system does get stolen, broken, or lost.
Other new features included in the update includes profile icons with characters from the upcoming Super Mario Odyssey game, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, News Feed updated look, and the option to pre-order and pre-download games in Nintendo’s eShop on the Switch. Owners will also notice that there’s a new Joy-con update available today also—yet, we’re still unclear what new changes that brought in.
