Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Piranha Bytes announced that their science-fantasy, open world action game — ELEX — launches this Fall. We also got the nice treat of a new CGI trailer and information of the game’s upcoming Collector’s Edition that includes a manual, an artbook, its original score on a CD, a cloth map that reveals the world of Magalan, a 2-inch amulet in the form of a combat drone, and a 10-inch figurine of an Alb Mage—now that’s what I call a Collector’s Edition.
The game is a handcrafted RPG game, set in a large post-apocalyptic science-fantasy world. Fill with unique characters, mutated creatures, and the need for making deep moral choices that’ll surely put you on the right spot amongst your army. Down below is quick overview for the upcoming game also see its reveal trailer down below:
Being raised as an Alb and fed pure Elex to strengthen your body, which also stripped you of all emotions, your world of cold logic and military discipline were all you knew. Set to rise through the ranks, a scourge to your enemies, your destiny seemed certain. Now, as the smoke rises over the wreckage of your glider in the mountains of Edan, you are trapped far from your home Xacor. With no access to pure Elex, you are experiencing emotions for the first time in your life. Stranded amongst your enemies and outcast from your people, in front of you lies a new and open path, as heavily laden with magnificence as it is with ruin. The decisions you make will decide the fate of the world. Magalan – will you be its slayer or its savior?
The game hands you a companion, yet you choose the faction in which you’ll govern and dictate what will be the best for your group. In the game, you’ll also need to earn the trust of experienced teachers to learn and develop necessary skills in order to become much more dominant in your fight. As with RPG games nowadays, it’s up to you to maintain the control of your nation, either you’re someone ally or enemy, it will be entirely the way you conduct yourself in the world of ELEX
There will be five regions, from the very beginning of the game you’ll be granted access to each one. Go where you want, fight who you want, also choose who you want as ally or enemy—hopefully you don’t go off an piss everyone off, doing so can leave you vulnerable in certain confrontations with other nations. According to the developer, the combat will feature a wide-range of weaponry selection, from swords, exes, bows, crossbow, to even harpoons—and lets not leave out the more modern weapons that’ll become disposable to you.
Elex launches October 17th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The price tag for the newly announced Collector’s Edition is still TBA.
