With the recent introduction of the game mode “Hoops,” Rocket League has had a massive increase of its players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. With this, more people have been wanting to play against their friends on different platforms, but not known how to. That’s why today I am going to be giving you a full tutorial on how to play cross-platform on Rocket League.
Note: This is a walk through for private matches only, as there is no way to be definitely in the same online match as your friends on separate consoles as I write this.
Firstly, you need to open up Rocket League on either your PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC. Next, you want to click “Create a Private Match” under “Play.” Now you need to set up the mutators, map and bots that you want to use in your private match.
Now you need to make sure you and your friends are on the same server together. To do this, you need to navigate to the section titled “Joinable By.” Once you are there, go across the options until you find “NAME/PASSWORD.” Next, change the Name and Password to something you and your friend know. Click “CREATE MATCH” and wait for the game to find you a server. Once that is done, get your friend to click “Join Private Match” and get them to type in the Name and Password that you created earlier.
And there you have it! If you followed these steps correctly, you should be straight into a private match with your friends!
