A new version of Pokemon Sun and Moon will launch for the upcoming Nintendo Switch. Multiple sources have told Eurogamer the game is well under development and will launch sometime in 2017—which currently holds the codename of Pokemon Stars.

The idea of Pokemon Stars is that for the first time in its 20 years we’ll see the mainline of the Pokemon series in one game—or bundled. The Switch will in some way become the first Nintendo Home console to receive a main Pokemon Adventure. The game is being developed by the original studio—Game Freak—who began the Pokemon games for Nintendo back in 1996.
