Psyonix has announced their partnership with the wrestling company, WWE. Rocket League will now be one of the biggest promotional partners for this year’s WWE Summer Slam, to be aired on Sunday August 20th. Rocket League will also be sponsoring the new Women’s Tournament, aswell.
WWE’s popular YouTube channel, UpUpDownDown, will be uploading six different gameplay videos of Rocket League, hosted by WWE Superstar Xavier Woods™.
The WWE Executive Vice President John Broday stated, “We look forward to working with Rocket League as we collectively build customized one-stop shopping programs to reach their consumers.”
Publishing Vice President at Psyonix, Jeremy Dunham, stated, “WWE has proven time and again that they know how to execute fantastic integrated programming, and with an audience that has similar interests to our own, it was only natural that we team up to see what we could do together.”
Rocket League is one of the most successful indie games of all time. According to Psyonix, the game has over 25 million players across all platforms, something that some AAA titles would also be proud of.
