Well, we can speculate no more, Rockstar Games announced that the highly anticipated game Red Dead Redemption 2 has been delayed to Spring 2018. Originally scheduled for a release of Fall 2017—this according to its reveal trailer from last October—now we’re left to wait perhaps this time next year.
Many are speculating a possible May 2018 release—given the first game launched in May 2010 and other Rockstar Games’ IPs that have launched in May or October. We get that delays are the worst things to happen to gamers but with Rockstar Games they’re sure to be a good reason as to why—perhaps improvements, its playability, mechanics, etc. The company has mentioned there releasing new information on the game this Summer.
We also received brand new images for the upcoming game—and quite honestly they’re absolutely spectacular to the point where I forget that this game was just delayed. Check them out below:
Rockstar Games did release a statement regarding its delay:
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now set to launch Spring 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.
We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer.
