The teaser demo for the upcoming game, Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour has been a massive success for developer Capcom. Over 3 million players have downloaded the stand alone excerpt of their incredibly spooky and atmospheric horror-survival game’s prologue. It has now received its final update titled “Midnight.”

Through the playing of Beginning Hour, people have discovered multiple endings and many unexplained strange occurrences. This final patch will bring the story together, along with the previous update “Twilight,” and paint a sinister picture of escape from the games dilapidated plantation mansion setting. The new trailer for the full game due early next year, has also been showcased recently.

The Midnight update will let players delve deeper into the mysteries of the eerie house, and it is probably advisable to find yourself a suitable weapon if you plan on entering that moulded door that appeared in the last update.

You can also enjoy the update through the immersive PlayStation VR. The title is fully compatible to the Virtual Reality headset, as well as coming with 4K and HDR support. Entering the frightening game environment via the PSVR may not be for the faint hearted however, be prepared to get your socks scared off.

The full release of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will not follow this teaser game storyline. Fans of the zombie franchise will be looking forward to a return to its roots of horror-survival that is being promised through Beginning Hour, moving away from the more gun toting last few Resident Evils. The wait is nearing and end, with a scheduled release date of January 24th next year.
