This week word came that Konami’s reboot of “Silent Hills,” is now cancelled. Konami officially confirmed Silent Hills is cancelled. P.T. a demo that was on the Playstation Store was removed and speculation around the net suggested that the game was cancelled.
Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro’s collaboration will not continue with Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami with that said, fans still want the game to be made.
A petition on Change.org is trying to get Silent Hills finished. The original goal for signatures was 15,000 and now has about 25,000 signatures.
Fans still want a new Silent Hill game to be made. It’s been about three years since a Silent Hill game was released. Silent Hill: Book Of Memories came out around October 2012.
The Silent Hill franchise has took different paths with story and game play ever since it was released back with the first game, “Silent Hill” for the Playstation one in 1999.
For me as I write this, I also feel that the Silent Hill Franchise would have been awesome for this generation of gaming consoles such as the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One. I would like to have seen this game get made with taking the game back to what the first game in gameplay and story was about.
I did like the fact that you would get to play as Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead/Boondock Saints) and would have had fun roaming the streets of Silent Hill.
