During today’s D23 Expo Event taking place this weekend, EA and DICE showcased a new video for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II. The new video highlights some new information in the game’s campaign mode which has been confirmed to be canon within the new Star Wars Canon universe—set right after the events of Episode IV.
The show was presented by Janina Gavankar who players the game’s main character Iden Versio—alongside Gavankar was Steve Blank from Lucasfilm, both spoke on the character Versio and bits of the Imperial-focused campaign in the game. See the video below titled “Behind the Story”
Now that we’re on the topic of Star Wars, Disney and Lenovo announced an augmented reality headset for mobile platforms. Disney Vice President of Advanced Development Mike Goslin said the following in regards to thing project:
“AR has always been a big part of the Star Wars stories. it’s always been really important. My personal favorite though is the Holo-chess game from the Millennium Falcon. We’ve always wanted to create that game and the technology just hasn’t existed to do that until now.”
This new headset will allow players to virtual prototype footage featuring Holo-Chess and AT-AT battles on Hoth—all in the comfort from wherever you are. Goslin also introduced a new game for the headset titled —Star Wars: Jedi Challenges — an AR game that allows the player to wield a lightsaber and battle foes.
