Ever dreamed of moving to the country in search of a simpler life? Thousands of players on PC are already living that dream thanks to the superb Country-Life RPG, Stardew Valley. The game is now coming to the PlayStation 4 from December 13th.
The mastermind behind the title that has received an amazing 98% positive rating from users on Steam, is Eric Barone. He wrote on the PlayStation Blog about how excited he is at the prospect of his game being launched to a whole new audience.
If you haven’t heard of Stardew Valley, then the game takes us to the countryside after you inherit your Grandfather’s old farm. You must rebuild the property, learning new farming techniques and making friends in the community. Given enough time, you might even start a family with one of the Valleys bachelors or bachelorettes, bringing with it the start of a whole new chapter for your tale.
According to Eric Barone, the game drew inspiration from another farming RPG, Harvest Moon. He prides himself on his attention to detail when he created Stardew Valley, building and rebuilding the game until it represented the title that he dreamed of. As a one man team, it really is a feat of incredible determination that he achieved something that gets as much love as the game receives.
The North American launch comes on December 13th, and Europe on December 14th. If it strikes a chord with players of the PlayStation 4 as much as it has with PC users, then that will be another thing that Eric Barone can count as a huge success.
