The indie platformer Super Meat Boy will soon be moving onto Wii U. At a Nintendo Direct this week, Super Meat Boy was referenced, but now we have confirmation that it will be moving to the Wii U. Co-designer Tommy Refences tweeted:
“Super Meat Boy is coming to WiiU very very very soon. BlitWorks [handlers of the Wii U port] is wrapping it up and you should be playing it in a couple months. Hooray!”
Back in 2010, Super Meat Boy was first released to the Xbox 360. Since then, it has made its way onto the PlayStation 4 and The PlayStation Vita. The game can also be played on the Xbox One through backwards compatibility. This makes it the first time the game has been on a Nintendo platform.
As for the release date, there isn’t one, yet, but we will keep you informed on any further updates. It will be interesting to see how well the Wii U will perform with Super Meat Boy and if there are any additions or changes.
