The free-to-play game in the “Tom Clancy” range, Ghost Recon Phantoms, will be coming to a halt this December. The exact date for when the first servers will shut is December 1st.
Ubisoft Singapore have made a statement on Phantoms website about them shutting down the servers.
The main reason for Ubisoft shutting down GRP is down to the fact that not enough players were playing the game at this time. Ubisoft Singapore are currently working on a new game for the community to enjoy.
“The shutdown of the game will take place on December 1st. The game will stay available until then, and we wish you a lot of fights until the end. The in game shop will remain available, but you won’t have any more the possibility to purchase Ghost Coins.”
Above is Ubisoft explaining how the in-game shop will not allow you buy Ghost Coins. The post then goes onto explain that you should settle any scores you have with the opposing team and to spend all of your remaining Ghost Coins. This is because Ubisoft are not planning on refunding anyone that still has Ghost Coins in their account on December 1st, and there will be no way to carry those over to other Tom Clancy games.
Personally, I never got the chance to play Ghost Recon Phantoms, but I have heard good things about the game, so go and play it whilst you can!
