A few months ago, Xbox head Phil Spencer mentioned that consoles might be receiving official keyboard and mouse support. However, a recent publication on Niche Gamer, Spencer may have something up his sleeve for the next installment of Halo Wars. When a fan asked about PC peripherals for Wars 2, he replied:

“It won’t be there at [the] launch [of Halo Wars 2], but this is support we’d like to add as it comes to the Xbox platform.”

As many have pointed out, Spencer doesn’t refer to any console in specific, so this could potentially apply to all current generation Xbox consoles, or only the Xbox One S or Scorpio. Regardless, this addition may not simply be a move to make PC gamers more comfortable, but also a step towards global multiplayer; in other words, PC and Xbox players online together.

Perhaps, he wishes to address the fact that mice are a lot more accurate than controllers? It would make sense, considering that this one of the biggest issues that face global integration.

I’m not sure whether this was Spencer’s goal, but either way, it’ll be cool to see the idea realized!
